We know that beating eggs is not the most exciting thing in the world, particularly if you have a lot of them to beat. As a result, a lot of people wonder whether they can use an electric tool to get the job done. Well, our experts have the answer for you!

So, can we beat eggs in a mixer grinder? You can, but it is not recommended. A mixer grinder, even on the lowest setting, will likely be far too powerful to beat the eggs properly. You certainly wouldn’t save that much time.

There is one exception to this rule, though. Our experts want to walk you through this ‘egg beating’ exception, as well as talk to you a little bit about how you can clean your mixer grinder when you are done beating eggs.

Can We Beat Eggs in Mixer Grinder?

You can. However, it wouldn’t be a very good idea to do that.

The thing is that eggs only need to be lightly beaten. If you put them into a mixer grinder, then it will probably beat them a little bit too hard. It will mess up the inside of the grinder (cause a huge mess), and your eggs won’t really be beaten any faster than if you did it all by hand.

That being said, there are some mixer grinders that will have a ‘beat’ option on them. It isn’t really made for eggs, but we suppose that you could give it a try anyway. You may need to make sure that the power of the mixer grinder is turned all the way down.

The only time that we recommend that you beat eggs in a mixer grinder is if you are making meringue. Since this is something that will take a huge amount of beating anyway, you can save a whole lot of time using a proper mixer to do it.

How Do You Make Meringue in a Mixer Grinder?

As we said, the only time that you really should be beating eggs in your mixer grinder is if you are planning on making meringue. Making this is so much easier if you have an electric mixer. In fact, most people don’t even bother to beat their meringue by hand nowadays.

To begin with, you are going to need to separate the egg yolks from the whites. Use however many eggs the recipe calls for.

You can now add all of those egg whites to your mixer grinder. If your mixer grinder has a ‘beat’ option, then select that. It is going to make the job a whole lot easier.

Start by mixing at the slowest possible speed. After a minute or two, the egg whites will start to form ‘soft peaks’. Basically, the egg whites will start to come together and you end up with something that is creamy in texture.

Once this happens, you will need to turn to turn the mixer grinder to the highest possible setting. It will now need to be left on this setting for between 3 and 5 minutes. The aim is to get those ‘hard peaks’ forming i.e. the egg whites will really start to stiffen up.

There are some meringue recipes that will require you to add sugar during this process. Of course, you will need to add when required. Savory meringue tends not to require this, though.

Once the hard peaks have formed, you can remove the meringue from the mixer grinder and use it for whatever you need to use it for. Remember, it is going to be quite stiff. You will not be able to pour it out. Instead, you will need to use a spoon.

How Do You Clean Eggs from Mixer Grinder?

It is important that you clean out the mixer grinder as soon as possible once you are done beating eggs in it. If you do not do this, then bacteria will start to form, and this will be difficult to cleanout.

You will need to consult the instruction manual to work out how you are meant to take the mixer grinder apart.

All you need is warm, soapy water to remove all of the egg residues. Make sure that you clean everything with the warm, soapy water. Use a sponge. This will allow you to remove the stiff residue. This is important if you have been making meringue.

After this, dry everything up properly. Don’t leave it to dry naturally. It can create an awful smell that will impact your food. Try to use a decent cloth to dry everything up, otherwise, you will be left with fabric threads inside the grinder.
